How to get the most out of your mornings

The morning time… We all hate it! We always try to catch a few more minutes of sleep before we are forced to get up. This often leads to rushing to get to school or work. The cure for this is changing our morning mindset. If properly planned mornings can become our favorite part of the day. Here are a few tips on how to get the most out of your morning.

  • Preparing the night before Getting your morning started the night before can make life much easier. Doing things like picking out your outfit, packing your bag and making your lunch can prevent you from feeling rushed and forgetting important items. Writing a to do list helps to put yourself on automatic in the mornings which means you don’t have to use much brain power.

  • Stop hitting the snooze button! The snooze button is our worst enemy because it’s our way of procrastinating what is inevitable…. getting up. Getting up as soon as the alarm sounds gives you extra time to for yourself. Whether you read a book, mediate or workout, this time is so important because, often times, it is the only time we have to ourselves. This time can rejuvenate your mind, body and spirit.

  • Eat breakfast! Eating breakfast is the most important meal of the day. It gives you the burst of energy that you need to push through the morning. You don’t have to limit yourself to a traditional breakfast like eggs, bacon and grits. Try oatmeal or a fruit smoothie...anything that will give your body a jump start.

  • Stay away for from technology. I know this is hard to do when most of us basically sleep with our phones. But our phone should not be the first thing we reach for in the morning especially when it is unproductive and waste precious time.

Follow these tips will not only make your morning smoother but your entire day will become much more productive.
