What is Beauty?
In March we held a contest in which our girls were required to write a blog post on a topic of their choice. Our winners, Summer Bell and Yumani Daniels wrote about beauty and what it means to them. Thanks so much for your wonderful submissions! As Promised, they are being featured on the ADG Blog. Congratulations!
Beauty By You
Beauty is simply defined as: a combination of qualities, such as shape, color, or form, that pleases the aesthetic senses, especially sight. Beauty is not how quickly your appearance can catch the attention of a lustful stranger, but how quickly they can focus on your characteristics. Beauty should not be defined by what society says is charming, but by the content of your heart towards others around you. The way one’s face lightens up when they’re expressing the passion they have for something or someone, the way they can find positivity in the most difficult of times, and what one chooses to see in another person; that is beautiful. “For beautiful eyes, look for the good in others; for beautiful lips, speak only words of kindness; and for poise, walk with the knowledge that you are never alone.” -Audrey Hepburn
You Are BEAUTY!
Sometimes girls feel like they are not pretty. They feel the need to wear makeup. Beauty is more than makeup. As a young lady, I do wear makeup and I am one of these girls who feel this way. I wear makeup to hide my pain. For some girls, it is much than just makeup. I told myself it's time to stop giving in and I vowed to never wear makeup again. Your beauty comes from within it is not determined by your physical attributes. All women are beautiful. You must learn to learn to accept yourself. Some women who don't wear make up say they are ugly or nobody loves them, but that is not true. We all are loved equally.
I want all women to take a good look and the mirror and say “I AM BEAUTY INSIDE AND OUT, I AM BEAUTY THERE IS NO DOUBT, IM BEAUTY THERE IS NO BACKING OUT.”
Be who you are and don't let anyone take that away from you. Beauty comes in all shades. As women we can take a stance. Let’s pledge to give up makeup for one whole week. This is your challenge. Be natural and proud! I am not saying we should completely give up on makeup. I am just saying we don’t need makeup to be beautiful. NATURAL BEAUTY, IS PERFECT BEAUTY. I am in love with myself and I feel like everybody should love themselves as well. love yourself no more or no less than you love yourself with makeup!
